Rajiv Gandhi Chaitanya Yojane (RGCY) is a State Government sponsored project implemented in the state since 2013-14. During 2014-15, 40 youth between the age group of 18 to 35 and educated up to 8th standard were selected through Grama Sabha from each Gram Panchayat.
As per the reservation policy, 20% of SC and 9% of ST beneficiaries have been selected and Physically Challenged, Tribal Youth, Women, Transgender and those who have completed 100 days of work under MGNREGA were included through the auto inclusion policy of SECC.
As on date 93,887 youth have been trained and deployed under self employment component and 3695 beneficiaries have been trained under skills. A total of Rs.99.58 crores was spent on the above mentioned activities.
The beneficiaries are oriented through an awareness programme, personal counselling and a training programme. 41 Project Supporting Agencies and 14 Project Implementing Agencies have been engaged to implement the Scheme. (Detailed information is available with the Gram/Taluk/ Zilla Panchayat )
